28.1 The parties may agree upon the law or rules of law to be applied by the sole arbitrator to the substance of the dispute.
28.2 In the absence of any agreement by the parties, the sole arbitrator shall apply the law or rules of law which it determines to be appropriate.
28.3 The sole arbitrator shall decide the dispute ex aequo et bono or as amiable compositeur only if the parties have expressly authorised the sole arbitrator to do so.
